How to Apply a Face Mask
1. Start With a Clean Face
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
👉 Dirt or makeup underneath a mask prevents it from working properly.
2. (Optional) Exfoliate
Use a mild exfoliator 1–2 times a week before masking.
This helps the mask absorb better.
Skip this step if you have sensitive skin.
3. Apply on Damp or Dry Skin
Clay/Charcoal masks: Apply on dry skin.
4. Use the Right Amount
A thin, even layer is usually best:
Not too thick (wastes product)
Not too thin (won’t work properly)
Avoid eyes, eyebrows, and lips unless the mask is made for those areas.
5. Follow the Mask Instructions
Different masks = different times.
Common timing:
Clay masks: 10–15 minutes (don’t let it get bone dry — remove while still a bit tacky)
6. Remove Properly
How you remove depends on the type:
Clay masks: Rinse with lukewarm water, using a soft cloth if needed
7. Moisturize After
After rinsing off most masks, apply a moisturizer to lock in hydration.
🌟 Extra Tips
Use 2–3 times a week unless the mask is gentle enough for daily use.
Don’t leave masks on longer than directed — especially clay masks (can cause dryness or irritation).
Do a patch test if you’re using a new product or DIY mask.
Apply masks with clean fingers or a brush for a more hygienic, even application.
